Design Thinking Center Nextview opens new headquarters in Eindhoven

Dec 4, 2018 9:32:06 AM. By: High Tech Campus

Approximately 1,000 square metres of the smartest square kilometre in Europe has now been converted into a Design Thinking Center. In building 27 of the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven, design and technology company Nextview opened its second branch this week. Although Nextview has also been based in Amsterdam for more than two years, Eindhoven will not become a new office. The company sees the new location on the campus as “the new headquarters for the south of the Netherlands and Belgium”.

“With over 750 sessions since the opening in March 2016, the original Design Thinking Center in Amsterdam turned out to be an instant hit,” says a spokesman for the company. “In the centre, which is a combination of an innovation lab and an experience space, many different spaces can be created by means of revolving walls. The Design Thinking specialists help customers find the optimal solution to their problem. They work with customer journeys, personas and prototypes, among other things.”

For the establishment in Eindhoven, the design from Amsterdam was taken as the starting point. Because there is 80% more floor space, the Design Thinking Center at the High Tech Campus offers a number of extras. For example, there is a special classroom for Nextview School, the training branch in which Design Thinking courses and Salesforce Administrator training courses are offered. “Another special feature is the Plastic Whale Boardroom, a transparent room fully furnished with Plastic Whale Circular Furniture: furniture made from recycled Amsterdam canal plastic.”

Huub Waterval, CEO of Nextview, about the new centre: “The High Tech Campus is the ideal location for our second Design Thinking Center thanks to its innovative character and its location in the city for technology, design and knowledge. The building in which we are located already has a rich history of innovations, and we hope to continue this in the future.”

Cees Admiraal, Director Business Development of the High Tech Campus, thinks Nextview will help turn HTC 27 into a vibrant building. “In one part you come across Huub, who will make large companies much more innovative thanks to design thinking. On the other hand, you come across innovative startups, who would like to become as big as those companies that work with Nextview. In the middle of the building, the two extremes meet and they can learn from each other and work together. I’m sure there will be some great things coming out of it.

Nextview has over 100 employees and combines Design Thinking with expertise in the field of SAP and Salesforce.
