Eindhoven, March 6 - High Tech Campus Eindhoven (HTCE) is pleased to announce a collaboration with Epic Games. The global video game and software developer is the first official collaboration of 3EALITY: High Tech Campus’s soon-to-open innovation hub for spatial computing and immersive technologies. Epic Games is a global leading interactive entertainment company, well-known for Fortnite, one of the world’s largest games, with over 350 million accounts and 2.5 billion friend connections.

Game-engine technologies for businesses and governmental organizations
Besides Fortnite, Epic Games has also developed Unreal Engine, an open and advanced real-time 3D creation tool for photoreal visuals and immersive experiences, serving B2C and B2B industries such as film and TV, architecture, automotive, and manufacturing. In 2024, the two parties already collaborated on two events on Campus, during which Epic Games demonstrated use cases of Unreal Engine for the B2B sector. Going forward, 3EALITY and Epic Games will work together to share knowledge about the possibilities and value of game-engine technologies for businesses and governmental organizations.

A hotspot for immersive technology
Philipp Werle, HTCE business developer emerging tech: “The market for spatial computing and immersive technologies is expected to grow very fast in the next few years. HTCE already has quite an ecosystem in the enabling layers of this development. With 3EALITY, we continue to grow the software and interaction layer as well. By joining forces with Epic Games, we will educate the market, attract new target groups and talent, grow our ecosystem, and become a hotspot for immersive tech. These kinds of collaborations will help us realize that ambition.” Rob Harrison, Business Development Director - Enterprise at Epic Games: “Epic Games is delighted to support High Tech Campus Eindhoven in bringing the 3EALITY innovation hub to life. We look forward to seeing how this facility will help to inspire a generation of creative talent in Eindhoven and further afield.”

About 3EALITY

Office spaces and technical facilities will be centered in and around a large community area and co-working spaces, encouraging collaboration. It will be the fifth innovation hub of HTCE. Among other things, the Campus has already successfully founded the 5G Hub and the AI Innovation Center, and with 3EALITY, it adds a new tech stack to its portfolio.

Opening as part of ‘25 Years of Open Innovation’
The Hub will be located on the ground floor and in the underground of HTC 37, a former building of Philips Research. The design of the space will be optimized to enhance inspiration and collaboration, which is essential to drive innovation and adoption of the technologies. The construction will take place in the coming months, and the official opening is scheduled for the second quarter of 2024. It will be part of the ‘25 Years of Open Innovation’ programming of HTCE. Werle: “Our first residents have signed, and we are beyond excited to open the location. Anyone interested in joining 3EALITY is welcome to reach out.”
