We dare to say High Tech Campus Eindhoven is a great place to work. Our square kilometer comprises around 140 companies and institutes and over 10,000 hightech professionals. A unique vibrant community giving birth to numerous technological solutions for global challenges. Reason enough to spend your working days here! The 27th of May is a great opportunity to find out if you can, check our career event BoostIQ.
But there is more! Working at the Campus means running into all kinds of extraordinary experiences. Some examples of our Campus Life:
1. Jam session of the world’s most talented robot-band
As a group of enthusiastic electronics, mechanics and software engineers, Team Dare started building a robot guitar in their spare hours. Their mechanical ‘Keith Richards’ and his gigs proved to be very successful. In the meantime the robot-band has grown with a drummer, pan-flutist, contrabass-player and VJ. After a Team Dare concert, you will sure have a great story for your friends.
Bumping into a European political leader
Last April, Angela Merkel visited the Campus. Being a physicist herself she was curious to find out what the companies at and around the Campus are up to. Being a politician she seized the opportunity to expand the visit into a Government Consultation, bringing several German ministers, Dutch ministers and Mark Rutte to the table to discuss the position of our mutual high-tech sectors. And Angela and Mark are not the first top-politicians to visit our premises. As an innovation hotspot the Campus draws a lot of attention from world leaders.
A look behind the scenes
Always wondered what Philips Research looks like from the inside? What NXP is working on now? Or what those numerous startups have to offer to the world? The High Tech Tour at the Dutch Technology Week is your chance to find out. Workshops, company visits and lectures open to the public will give you deep insight in what’s happening in hightech today and tomorrow.
High impact accelerator program HighTech XL
Last year the HighTech XL accelerator program for startups was awarded a top 5 impact rating worldwide. Within months - and with the support and guidance of numerous expert coaches - the selected teams refine their plans and products, set up financing, marketing and sales and launch their businesses. HighTech XL is redefining start-up power.
Meeting 85 cultures in a day
The workforce of High Tech Campus Eindhoven is extremely multinational. Talent from all over the world, 85 nationalities at last count - gathers here to develop the technologies and products of tomorrow together. This multiculturality gives a vibrant atmosphere and is also reflected in our restaurant facilities. Taste India at ‘Love my Curry’, true Italian food at ‘Al Fresco’, or go plain local at ‘LOKL’. With 9 restaurants all located at The Strip, cultures meet and mix.
A game of cricket
A genuine game of cricket is a rare happening in Western countries (excluding UK and associates). It is a great sight as the Indian and Pakistani community members pull out their gear, outfits and bring their families for a distinguished ball game. Cricket is just one of the 15 sections of Campus Sports. Initiated by community members and facilitated by the Campus Sports association, sports enthusiasts can find their relief in a number of sports (training sessions and tournaments), both outdoors and indoors in our well-equipped Wellness Center.
Networking to the max
Big Data, Body Sensor Networks, Photonics, Internet of Things, name any relevant tech trend and we’ve got an event around it. The Campus hosts 500 events each year. Tech oriented but also business and social events. This means great opportunities to learn and build your network, fast!
Serendipity at your service
Deep down our main aim is to manage serendipity. The (not so) accidental meeting of brilliant minds that boosts new insights and in the end, innovation. As the late Steve Jobs said: “Innovation comes from people meeting up in the hallways or calling each other at 22.30 hours with a new idea, or they realized something that shoots holes in how we’ve been thinking about a problem.” We think the Campus offers an environment, a culture, a community that does just that.
