High Tech Campus Eindhoven has started a Campus-wide upgrade of its outdoor lighting. With a cloud-based connected LED lighting system from Signify, the Campus is taking an important step towards a more sustainable, safer and future-ready environment.

With this upgrade, High Tech Campus expects to reduce energy consumption for outdoor lighting by as much as 79 percent compared to conventional systems. In addition, the smart system enables advanced monitoring, control and management of the lighting infrastructure. Light levels can be flexibly adjusted to specific times and needs, such as dimming during low-activity hours or increasing brightness when required. Dimming in the evening or at night also helps to reduce light pollution. Thanks to the long lifespan of the new luminaires (up to 100,000 operating hours) maintenance needs and associated costs are reduced.

The project started in December, and from January onwards, all outdoor luminaires on the Campus lighting poles will be replaced. In total, 544 outdoor luminaires are included in the project. For the installation works, High Tech Campus cooperates with DES Group, who have successfully executed several successful projects on Campus.

High Tech Campus Eindhoven is gestart met een campusbrede vernieuwing van de buitenverlichting. Met een cloudgestuurd, connected LED-verlichtingssysteem van Signify zet de Campus een belangrijke stap richting een duurzamere, veiligere en toekomstbestendige omgeving.
Met deze upgrade verwacht High Tech Campus Eindhoven het energieverbruik voor buitenverlichting met maar liefst 79 procent te verminderen ten opzichte van conventionele systemen. Het slimme systeem maakt geavanceerde monitoring, controle en beheer van de verlichtingsinfrastructuur mogelijk. Hierdoor kan de verlichting proactief en op afstand worden aangestuurd, wat extra efficiëntie- en onderhoudsvoordelen oplevert.
Het lichtniveau kan flexibel worden aangepast aan specifieke tijden en behoeften, zoals dimmen tijdens uren met weinig activiteit of het verhogen van de helderheid wanneer dat noodzakelijk is. Dimming in de avond of ‘s nachts draagt bovendien bij aan het verminderen van lichtvervuiling. Dankzij de lange levensduur van de nieuwe armaturen (tot 100.000 branduren) dalen de onderhoudsbehoeften en de daarmee gepaard gaande kosten aanzienlijk.

Signify, wereldwijd marktleider op het gebied van verlichting, heeft zijn hoofdkantoor op High Tech Campus Eindhoven en bevestigde in juli 2025 opnieuw zijn langetermijnbetrokkenheid bij de campus.
