NXP Semiconductors (NXP), a leader in semiconductor innovation, has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to High Tech Campus Eindhoven (HTCE). At the end of February, extensive renovations of NXP’s headquarters in Building HTC 60 were completed. Additionally, NXP will occupy two office floors in the newly built HTC 91. Both buildings are located on the south side of the Campus.

Modernizing for the future

NXP’s presence in Eindhoven is deeply rooted in its history with Philips Semiconductors, which was formally established as a division of Philips in 2002 before spinning out as NXP in 2006. Since then, NXP’s global headquarters have remained on the grounds of the former Philips NatLab, now High Tech Campus Eindhoven.

The extensive renovation of HTC 60 has transformed the entire building into a state-of-the-art workplace, designed to enhance collaboration and employee well-being. The redesign includes a fully renovated entrance, modernized office floors with enhanced social and co-working spaces, and upgraded facilities that foster a dynamic work environment.

Maurice Geraets, Executive Director of NXP, stated: “NXP extends its commitment to locating its global headquarters on High Tech Campus Eindhoven until 2035. We’re very happy our completely rebuilt and refurbished head office is ready for the next decade of innovation leadership.”

In addition, NXP will occupy the 3rd and 4th floors of Lucis One (HTC 91). This newly added building provides a high-end office environment and direct access to shared social and green areas.

Semiconductor leader

The semiconductor industry is a critical pillar of Europe’s technological and economic future. NXP plays a pivotal role in this landscape, particularly in the automotive, industrial, and IoT sectors. Earlier this year, NXP secured a €1 billion loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to advance semiconductor innovation, aligning with the EU Chips Act and the Dutch government’s National Technology Strategy. This investment will drive R&D efforts across Europe, further strengthening the region’s technological leadership and supply chain security. Additionally, NXP is strengthening its R&D in the Netherlands through IPCEI ME/CT grants, focusing on key innovations in automotive, 6G, AI, and cybersecurity.

Otto van den Boogaard, CEO of High Tech Campus Eindhoven, expressed his enthusiasm for NXP’s strengthened long-term presence: “NXP plays a crucial role in pushing semiconductor innovation forward in Europe, and we are proud to have them here in Brainport at High Tech Campus Eindhoven. Here, NXP is part of a unique ecosystem of companies and knowledge institutes that are deeply involved in semiconductors and integrated photonics. We are constantly developing our Campus, ensuring that companies like NXP can focus on what they do best: making an impact through innovation.”

Grand opening of renovated headquarters

To celebrate this milestone, NXP will celebrate the opening of its renovated headquarters at HTC 60 on May 15, 2025. This event marks a new chapter for NXP at High Tech Campus Eindhoven, reinforcing its commitment to innovation, collaboration, and growth in the European semiconductor industry.
